Attention, school and university students! On August 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., you will have the opportunity to learn about training and study opportunities at around 80 companies and organizations in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to numerous regional and national employers, you can expect a varied supporting program with tips on applying for jobs and starting your career, free application photos, snacks, and music.

Once again this year, the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST will be represented at the Night of Applicants, providing information about apprenticeships and entry-level opportunities for students.

Even while still studying, students at Fraunhofer IST can take their first steps toward a career in research, technology, or administration. We offer theses, internships, and student research assistant positions and are looking for committed students who would like to work with us on sustainable solutions for surfaces and coatings for products and production systems with future viability.

Fraunhofer IST also offers a wide range of opportunities for high school students to start their careers – for example, in the fields of natural sciences, technology, IT, administration, or media design. During your training, you will learn about modern technologies and work processes and be prepared for your professional future by experienced trainers in a practical manner.
