Formnext is the world's leading trade show for additive manufacturing in an industrial context and will take place for the tenth time in Frankfurt am Main from November 18 to 21, 2025. In addition to additive manufacturing systems, the trade show presents a wide range of technologies along the entire process chain, from materials and automation to software and post-processing to quality control. As a member of the Fraunhofer Group for Production consortium, Fraunhofer IST will be represented with the topics of recycled plastics in 3D printing and plastic repair using 3D printing.

The EMEA Automotive Carbon Neutral Summit 2025 is dedicated to the transformation of the automotive industry toward climate neutrality and promotes exchange between politics, business, and science on strategies, innovations, and new business models for sustainable mobility. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Stephan Krinke from Fraunhofer IST will shed light on the decarbonization of the automotive value chain by optimizing CO₂ reduction and costs.

The Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO) 2025 will take place for the fourth time from November 30 to December 4, bringing together international players from industry, politics, science, and investors to discuss green hydrogen as a key technology for the energy transition. Around 6,000 participants, over 500 companies, 200 speakers, and more than 50 exhibitors from over 100 countries are expected to attend. Fraunhofer IST will be represented with contributions on the topics of training and further education for the hydrogen economy and green hydrogen in the iron and steel industry.

On 28th and 29th January, the Fraunhofer IST, boltzplatz and PlasmaSolve are jointly organizing an industry workshop on the topic of “Plasma Process Simulation Tools for Industrial Coating and Etching Systems - Latest Developments and Future Trends”. The inaugural session of the workshop will include a series of lectures, followed by product shows. On the second day, participants will have the opportunity to engage with the subject matter through live demonstration of the different simulation software. Over the course of these two days, the event also provides a platform for dialogue and networking.

On March 5, 2025, the Photonics Hub Symposium “Hyperspectral Imaging” will take place in Nierstein. The event offers a comprehensive overview of current developments and future trends in hyperspectral imaging. In addition to technological fundamentals, practical application examples and innovative uses will also be presented. Dr. Michael Vergöhl will give a presentation on gradient filters.
