Climate management as a business case
Sustainability regulations such as the CSRD, increasing customer demands, and growing competitive pressure pose major strategic challenges for companies. Climate protection is often viewed purely as a cost factor, but when implemented systematically, it can unlock significant economic potential. The webinar “Climate Management as a Business Case” shows how strategic decarbonization can be implemented in an ecologically effective and economically viable manner.
The free online webinar is organized by experts from the Fraunhofer Institutes for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST, for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA, for Production Systems and Design Technology IPK, and the Fraunhofer Group for Production.
The focus is on a scientifically based Fraunhofer approach to developing individual decarbonization strategies. Participants will gain practical insights into the evaluation of climate protection measures from an ecological and economic perspective, as well as the integration of economic future scenarios. On this basis, they will learn how to derive suitable measures for their company and establish climate management as a sustainable business case.
Key topics of the webinar:
- Evaluation of climate protection measures according to ecological and economic criteria
- Integration of economic future scenarios
- Calculation of avoidance costs and emission reductions
- Development of economically viable decarbonization strategies
- Classification of climate management in the context of CSRD and competitiveness
