From October 12–16, 2026, students can gain a wide range of insights into the circular economy in the automotive industry through a Summer School at WeCampusWOB. Renowned professors will present current research and demonstrate how research findings are translated into real-world applications. Leading industry partners such as Volkswagen and Salzgitter AG will share practical perspectives and highlight career opportunities. The program also includes a variety of workshops and field trips. In addition, the Summer School offers numerous opportunities to connect with experts from industry and academia as well as with fellow students who share a passion for innovation and sustainability.
As a member institute of the Fraunhofer Center Circular Economy for Mobility CCEM, Fraunhofer IST plays a key role in the Summer School program. Our institute's director and expert in sustainable manufacturing and life cycle engineering, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Herrmann, is one of the event’s keynote speakers.
