16th International Conference on HIPIMS 2026

HIPIMS 2026 will take place from June 15 to 18, 2026, in Sheffield (UK) and is the 16th International Conference on High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering. The international conference brings together researchers, users, and industry representatives from around the world to discuss current developments in high-power impulse magnetron sputtering and related plasma coating and surface treatment technologies. The program includes a lecture and poster program, technical courses, an industry exhibition, and an expert panel discussion.

Fraunhofer IST is co-organizing HIPIMS 2026 together with the National HIPIMS Technology Centre UK and is contributing its expertise in plasma-based surface technology, industrial coating processes, and application-oriented research to the content of the conference. The institute is also represented with several contributions to the conference and course program.
