The Future Day for Girls and Boys offers students in grades 5 to 9 the opportunity to gain exciting insights into various professional fields. At the Fraunhofer Campus, the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research WKI traditionally open their doors to inspire young people to take an interest in science and research.

Participants have the opportunity to spend a day getting a taste of everyday research and taking a look behind the scenes at the institutes. The program includes practical insights into various laboratories and research areas, as well as vivid experiments that bring science to life. Among other things, students learn about modern technologies and applications from materials and surface research.

We look forward to offering participants hands-on science and giving them an exciting and varied Future Day for Girls and Boys on campus.
