Education fairs

Attention Students! As part of the Bachelorinfoabend (engl.: Bachelor Information Evening) on January 13, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, attendees will receive a comprehensive overview of the diverse opportunities offered by the specialization Production, Automation, and Systems. This event is aimed at students enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering – Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s programs.

The evening will begin with an introduction by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Herrmann, Head of the Institute of Machine Tools and Production Engineering and the Fraunhofer IST, who will present the specialization and the associated institutes. Following this, a marketplace session will provide the chance to engage directly with the institutes. Here, participants can learn about available courses, gain insights into current research projects, and explore options for student theses, research assistant positions, and international opportunities.

At Fraunhofer IST, students can take their first steps toward a professional career in research, technology, or administration during their studies. We offer thesis projects, internships, and positions for student assistants. Graduates in technical and scientific fields have the ideal opportunity to prepare for responsible roles through practical, project-based work. We are always looking for curious and committed students to join us in developing sustainable solutions for surfaces and coatings for future-ready products and production systems.
