2nd European Automotive Circular Economy Summit 2026
The European Automotive Circular Economy Summit will take place for the second time in Frankfurt am Main from March 23 to 24, 2026. The conference brings together leading representatives of the automotive industry, decision-makers, and experts from OEMs, suppliers, recycling companies, politics and research to discuss future strategies for the automotive circular economy and deepen valuable industry contacts.
This year's main topics are:
- Material cycles in automotive production (steel, aluminum, plastics)
- Recycling technologies for vehicles and batteries
- End-of-life vehicles (ELVs) and new regulatory developments in the EU
- Digital solutions for greater transparency, such as product passports and material tracking
- Business models and strategies for decarbonization in the automotive value chain
Prof. Dr. Stephan Krinke will give two scientific contributions as part of the conference program, including on sustainable materials, life-cycle engineering, and successful strategies for implementing the circular economy in the automotive industry. Fraunhofer IST is thus making a significant contribution to the content of the summit and presenting current research approaches and practical solutions for sustainable, circular mobility.
