Testing resistance to washing and abrasion with the abrasion test

The purpose of the abrasion test or scuff test is to simulate the kind of stress often encountered in the home, but also in industrial environments where surfaces are scrubbed with brushes. The example given concerns the testing of the durability of an anti-soiling coating on sanitary tiles. For this purpose, the brush is oscillated over the surface while being rinsed with distilled water.
