Multiphysical simulations

At Fraunhofer IST there are many years of experience with flow simulations via Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) – using commercial as well as open source simulation tools. This is an important asset for optimization of functional parts, e.g. within deposition reactors or for optimization of processes and process chains.

Model based product and process optimization; improved understanding of processes

Product and process simulation enable to perform feasibility and optimization studies with minimized experimental effort. CFD enables the simulation of various processes and mechanisms such as reactive flows or structural mechanical problems. The findings obtained from the simulations serve as basis for decision-making in product and process development.
