International Battery Production Conference IBPC 2019

Steigenberger Parkhotel Braunschweig

The global demand for sustainably produced electrochemical energy storages is at an all-time high and is expected to increase even further. With all the attention devoted to battery technology, the production process of batteries is often neglected. The International Battery Production Conference bridges this gap.

For the first time, the Fraunhofer IST participates as a scientific partner at the International Battery Production Conference, which takes place for the second time in Braunschweig. Prof. Dr. Christoph Herrmann, head of the Fraunhofer IST and the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technology (IWF) of the TU Braunschweig, will be chair of the conference together with Prof. Dr. Arno Kwade, head of the TU Institute for Particle Technology (iPAT).

In cooperation with the VDMA Batterieproduktion, the Fraunhofer IST and the German competence Cluster ProZell, the Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB) established an international exchange and networking platform that addresses the latest developments in the area of battery production.

The conference focuses on the following main topics:

  • Electrode Production
  • Cell Production
  • Module and Pack
  • Resource Efficiency
  • Safety
  • Simulation
  • Production 4.0
  • Recycling
