Workshop on innovative technologies for space optics

The Fraunhofer IST participates with a contribution at the ESA workshop on additive manufacturing, commercial-off-the-shelf-components, digitalization and Innovation management.

In the framework of the accompanying exhibition the Fraunhofer IST presents additive manufactured components electroplated with copper, nickel or chromium, which enables their use in space travel. The electrically conductive metal layer significantly increases the mechanical stability of the component and also prevents outgassing.
