Symposium / November 15, 2021 - November 18, 2021
12th Symposium on Vacuum based Science and Technology
At the start of this year's Symposium on Vacuum based Science and Technology Dr.-Ing Ralf Bandorf, Group Manager of Highly Ionized Plasmas and PECVD at the Fraunhofer IST and a long-time member of the Society of Vacuum Coaters SVC, will be giving a tutorial course on sputtering. It will cover topics such as the fundamentals of sputtering, HIPP processes like HIPIMS and reactive as well as non-reactive sputtering. Furthermore he will complement the scientific program with a lecture on ”Gas-Flow Sputtering – a flow regime dominated sputtering process for films up to several ten microns”.
The symposium enables scientists to exchange research results and expertise in the field of vacuum and plasma-based science. The four-day event will take place in Kołobrzeg, Poland, and will offer participants a wide range of on-site activities.
The programme includes lectures by internationally renowned scientists on the following topics:
- Materials and technologies for hydrogen generation, storage and fuel cells
- New trends and concepts in plasma-based surface treatment and deposition processes
- Plasma physics and techniques
- Protective thin film coatings
- Additively manufactured components – plasma-based surface treatment
- Thin films and surface treatment for biomedical applications
- Thin-film solar cells and sensors
